Talk by Dr. Michel Rogé at the 2018 Congress of SECOM in Ibiza

The 17th Congress of Oral Surgery and Implantology of the SECOM, the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, was held the past 17 and 18 May 2018 in Ibiza and included the participation of Dr. Michel Rogé.

The 2018 edition of the Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SECOM) was held at Palacio de Congresos in Santa Eulalia del Río (Ibiza).

The already renowned congress, which celebrated its 17th edition this 2018, offered an interesting scientific program of 7 thematic blocks and had the honour of receiving more than 250 attendees, mainly oral surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, master students of Implantology, dentists and periodontists.

The seven sessions or thematic blocks were the following:

• Paediatric oral surgery.
• Perioral aesthetic procedures.
• From natural dentition to implant rehabilitation.
• Time management in Implantology.
• Is it bad to resist change? Reconstruction of the aesthetic front.
• Prevention of complications in augmentation techniques.

And they were moderated by Dr. Eduardo Sánchez-Jáuregui, Dr. Jorge García, Dr. Julio Acero, Dr. Andrés Valdés, Dr. Santiago Llorente, Dr. Jorge Caubet and Dr. Federico Hernández Alfaro.

Dr. Javier González Lagunas, president of the organizing committee of the 2018 Congress of the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, explained that the nearly 40 national and international speakers who participated offered a clear and complete vision of the current situation of Implantology, about topics such as aesthetics, immediate loading, virtual surgery, complementary techniques, etc.

Dr. Michel Rogé participated in the third session of the first day of the congress, offering a talk on the topic “Extractions-implants and immediate loading. Prosthetic considerations.”

The Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The main goal of this SECOM Congress was to offer two intense and interesting days of meetings, training, networking and exchange, specifically on innovation in the field of oral surgery and implantology, and on the latest advances in maxillofacial surgery.

In addition, secondary specialties such as cosmetic surgery and paediatric oral surgery also played a leading role, as well as the recent trend on combining cosmetic surgery and dental implantology.
