Every year, the Centre de Parodontologie et d’Implantologie Orale d’Aquitaine (CPIOA) offers several conferences on scientific dissemination about periodontology and implantology, in which several invited speakers share their knowledge, points of view and experience.
A conference on the aesthetic integration in Bordeaux, by Dr. Michel Rogé
Included into this scientific programme of the Centre de Parodontologie et d’Implantologie Orale d’Aquitaine (CPIOA), this conference was held in Bordeaux on February 2, 2017 from 9 am to 6 pm at the Burdigala Hotel.
Dr. Michel Rogé focused on the aesthetic integration in periodontal prostheses and implants, in two parts:
- Aesthetic, intellectual and physical reflection.
- Aesthetic integration in periodontal prostheses (in reduced periodontium) and implants. Two cases were evaluated: the case of a simple, single and anterior edentation; and the case of a multiple, anterior edentation with management of the taste buds.

Art and science are inevitably mixed in prosthodontics and implantology, generating dualisms between realism and artificiality, personalization or standardization, what the patient aims for and what is convenient for the aesthetic harmony… These are dilemmas that elevate this profession to a philosophical level.
Given this reality, Dr Michel Rogé actively participates in conferences, workshops and lectures in various parts of the world every year, in an effort to disseminate his perspective and propose solutions, showing real cases that are the result of his knowledge and experience.
His book Esthétique Analytique en Odontologie is another excellent example of this. It has been recently published and it has already become a reference book in the field.
